“Taxonomic Revision and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Strigatus Group of Cyphomyrmex Mayr, 1862 (Formicidae: Myrmicinae: Attini)” with Dr. Claudio Ruy Vasconcelos da Fonseca (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia-INPA-AM) and Dr. Antonio José Mayhé-Nunes (Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de
Janeiro-UFRRJ-RJ).

Cyphomyrmex is an exclusively Neotropical genus with 37 nominal species known at present. These ants are known by their morphological complexity, which has been challenged taxonomists for a long time. In this study I will revise the taxonomy of the Strigatus Group (15 spp.) and present a phylogenetic hypothesis employing
morphological characters. Loans are welcome.
