Well
folks, here is the next "Notes from Underground". Things
have been hectic here, had some computer trouble and of course had
to pretend I am a productive member of society.
Here in the California desert, collecting
has been on the slow side due to the rather extended cool spring.
We had plenty of rain early on but no sun and warmth to get things
moving.
Roy is off traveling......again. After
a productive trip to Kenya he is headed to Australia for some much
needed R & R yahhh right we all know him...
Alex Wild is back from Paraguay, if you
haven't been to check out his fantastic ant pictures
you're missing out.
Zach Prusak sacrificed many hours
scanning in and converting the old issues of "Notes" into
PDF format, many thanks to Zach for taking the time to make this
interesting and valuable "blast from the past" available.
And on that note while browsing the list of old members I see a
lot of names I recognise but have not made an appearance here, if
anyone here knows how to contact these old members please drop them
a line and invite them back.
Incoming contributions have been on
the slow side so as always I need more if I am to be able to continue
to fill these pages.
Finally a bit of business that I find
rather distasteful, I have tried to avoid the need to ask for donations
to help keep the site running. However recently my financial situation
has taken a downturn and I find it necessary to ask for your help.
If you want to see "Notes" continue on and grow as it
has been, please consider helping out financially with the upkeep
of the site. Please remember contributions are totally voluntary
and in no way required to keep your name on the subscription list,
but are necessary to keep "Notes" alive and healthy.
