My area of greatest interest is ant taxonomy, the group I am most
familiar with being the myrmicine genus Monomorium. My position is that of a
part-time research associate under Professor Majer. My main current interest
is the preparation of a guide to the ants of the South-western Botanical
Province of Australia, a work that includes a key to actual species or
morphospecies (many of them undescribed). Other tasks include a supervisory
role with several postgraduates undertaking invertebrate projects,
occasional demonstrating and general upkeep and curation of the large Curtin
Ant Collection. I am also a councillor in the West Australian Insect Study
Society (WAISS), a society aimed at promoting the study and enjoyment of WA
insects and other arthropods.
