I have an abiding interest in all groups of social insects, although with a distinct bias in enthusiasm and expertise toward social wasps. Nesting biology and systematics of social insects, with special attention to wasps. Biogeography. History of biology.
If I recall correctly, my publications include just one paper on ants, an opportunistic little thing on trail sharing by two species of Polyrhachis in the Philippines many years ago. Polyrhachis remains my favourite genus of ants, and I have spent many happy hours dissecting their nests and comparing their various of spinosities.
