"Notes
from Underground" Is an informal place to exchange
information in all of its forms about ants. As such we welcome
contributions from all of our members. However we have found
it necessary to implement certain guidelines for contributors.
Contributions may be of any length, with illustrations or not.
While we do not wish to exercise a heavy editorial hand, the
editors do reserve the right to edit contributions for clarity
. The editors maintain the right to determine whether a contribution
is suitable for inclusion; if it is felt that contribution is
not suitable we will send the contributor an email explaining
why, and when possible offer suggestions for improvement.
Although English is the preferred
language we welcome contributions in other languages provided
they are submitted in Roman characters. If a contribution is
in other than the English language we ask that at the very least
the author try to provide an English synopsis. Contributions
of excessive size, may be broken into several parts to better
serve those members with slow dial up connections. Submissions
containing material, either text or photographic, from other
sources should clearly state the source of the material as we
do not wish to unknowingly violate anyone else's copyright.
Remember
that Notes is now on a strict quarterly schedule, every effort
will be made to get new issues posted on the following schedule,
April 1, July 1, October 1 and January 1. Submissions received
after these dates will be rolled over to the next issue. Time
sensitive submissions such as requests for specimens and timed
announcements will be added regardless of when they are received.
Finally, NFU is not a venue for
formal publication of information and especially not for the
description and validation of new taxa. Taxonomic names that
have not been formally published must not be used at any time.
Submissions may be sent to any of the co-editors
