Greetings to you all. At long last here it is. I apologise for the long delay in getting this posted, the year and last few months have been tremendously challenging.

With this issue of Notes we are beginning a new policy. Instead of an occasional massive update we are going to try to get new material posted as it comes in. Hopefully this will keep the site fresh and more interesting for you.
Once again we have some good stuff here for you. However we can not let it stop here, we need more, many more contributions and input from you all. So please once again take a few minutes and put something together to share. In addition I need your help in the following matter, when sending out the rare but important updates, I get many bounced emails. This is usually the result of an email change which is not forwarded to me. Additionally I am sure many of you have had changes in life which are not reflected in Notes, please why not update us now so we can be current.
The springtime in Southern California was pretty much a bust, we had little winter or spring rain which resulted in much poorer collecting than last season. Flowers... what flowers. The spring bloom was very spotty at best. We have hope that this upcoming season will be better as the are predicting a weak to moderate El nino condition
Finally a bit of business that I find rather distasteful, I have tried to avoid the need to ask for donations to help keep the site running. If you want to see "Notes" continue on and grow as it has been, please consider helping out financially with the up keep of the site. Please remember contributions are totally voluntary and in no way required to keep your name on the subscription list, but are necessary to keep "Notes" alive and healthy. To all of those who have been able to help a huge thank you.

"Here's a piece just from The Straight Dope, a weekly column answering questions on just about everything. Cecil Adams is a committee, as I understand it, and he has a board of experts to deal with various kinds of specialized questions. His expert on bugs is Doug Yanega of the Univ. of California. In any event, you might like to put a link to this piece in Notes from Underground."
